Planetbase Day: 5

After, 5 days of playing Planetbase, I'll have to give it some props. This game is very immersive. I really enjoyed killing to many people, sarcasm, since I am really bad at this game. It is a very fun game. Even when I wasn't doing that well it made me want to play it even more. I wanted to learn how to create a stable community, so I kept playing and playing. It is annoying however, since there isn't a good tutorial, you have learn by trial and error. Overall I would recommend trying this game out, it was enjoyable.

Day 4: Planetbase results

Well I didn't really succeed in my plan to have a stable community. I ran into many problems,  one of which was my power. At first I thought Power Collectors could power my buildings, but I was wrong they power the Wind Turbines. So, I had to restart a few times. After, that I built a nice community, but I didn't have enough food so I eventually ran out. I expanded to quickly without building a good foundation first. So, I recommend doing that, start of building a good structure which can maintain a food supply, sleep area, water and power. Then you can start thinking about expanding

Day 4: Planetbase

Today, I am going to try and actually play the game without getting an error. I want to build a stable community before anything else since I didn't very far last time around. I would like be bring in at least 3 more people in to I can have a population of 10. To do that I think food will be a huge problem and my area, I think I'll have to many buildings, but not enough to go around.

Day 3: Playing the game

Well, today I was going to start playing Plantbase, but once I got to a certain point this popped up:

I'm not sure what this error is or how it occurs, but all I know is that you can't continue your game. I tried starting a new game, but it also got an error, at about the same time as I got it the first time, which is around 10-20 minutes. I'm not sure how to fix it, which is sad since I was starting to get inot the game.

For the small amount of time I did get to play it, I learned a few things. It is a hard game at the beginning, since you have to start fast. I had to restart multiply times, before I started to get the hang of it. In my opinion the tutorial didn't really help me at all. I was not expecting this from the tutorial. However, I will say I am having fun learning how to play the game, it is frustrating here and there, but so far I'm enjoying the game. I won't bother posting any screenshots since it wasn't really anything different than my photos of the tutorial, since i sort of built the same stuff before I received the error.

Day 2: Preview

Today, I played the tutorial for Planetbase and I have some feedback. First, if you don't have a good computer I recommend changing your settings so you don't lag while you are playing the game.

I played the tutorial so I could get a better grasp of how to play the game. The controls are: WASD, these will allow you to move the camera, R and F lets you rotate the camera. Your mouse is what you use to control the movements of the game. There are some other controls like ALT, which shows your material and the + button, increases the game speed.

Now the game, it starts off with 7 people and 2 bots. You will need to build buildings to let your people survive. First you would want to build an Oxygen generator and a Solar Panel. Your people won't be able to survive without Oxygen and the Solar Panel powers your buildings.

When you create a building you'll want to make a connection to a different building so your people can move throughout the place. Once you make those you'll need to make other primary buildings like a Bio-Dome. This is where you will plant your crops. You'll also need to build a Dorm. your people will get tried and will need to rest. A Sick Bay is also very key, since you'll need your people to be as healthy as possible. A Mine, is also an important part since you'll need resources to expand.

The tutorial is very easy since your people can't die, but it's also very strict. You can't experiment and just try different things. I don't really think the tutorial really helps other than the basic information you'll need, other than that it gives no help or tips.

I finished the tutorial and I'm ready for the real deal,

Day 1: First Impressions

Today, I watched the trailer for Planetbase and read their website.

Planetebase seems to be another simulation game like Farming Simulator or Banished. The goal of the game is to create a stable environment/community on a different planet.

On the website it says there are 3 different planets, each more difficult than the other.

To create a stable community, you must build homes, find oxygen, food, water and expand. You'll also need to survive from natural disasters, shown in the trailer.

After doing some research and watching some videos and reading some basic information about the game, I'm not to excited about the game, but I think this is one of the games you can judge until you play it. The graphics look nice and it seems like it isn't to hard to play. It does look restricted though when it comes to exploring, which is sad since it looks like a very cool and interesting planet.

I am glad to see a nice variety of characters I will be able to control, but by the looks of it, there isn't any sort of back story to the people or any story at all when it comes to the characters.
